The Rhodopes keep ancient secrets. Belintash is a rock sanctuary of the Bessi, dedicated to the god Sabazios; Karadzhov Kamak is an impressive rock sanctuary revered by the ancient Thracians; and In Kaya, "the Blue Rock", is a mystical Thracian sanctuary overhanging the mountain. Between them lies Krastova Gora, a holy place we reach on foot.

Day-by-day programme

  1. 5 September: Mostovo and the sunset over Belintash

The participants meet the guide in the village of Mostovo. We check in to cosy Rhodope houses and rest. In the evening we drive to Belintash, where we enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Rhodopes. After that we return for dinner.

  2. 6 September: Krastova Gora and Karadzhov Kamak

After breakfast we set out on a walking hike from the village of Mostovo towards Krastova Gora. We immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of this holy place, and then continue on to the majestic Karadzhov Kamak. We climb the wooden staircase to the rock plateau, from where incredible panoramic views open up. On a circular route we return to Mostovo for a second night and dinner.

  3. 7 September: In Kaya

After breakfast and checking out of the houses, we head to In Kaya, a mystical rock sanctuary left to us by the ancient Thracians.
